Welcome to Congregation Sha'are Shalom

Due to the impending significant snowfall for this weekend we will be cancelling all activities beginning with Friday night Shabbat Services (2/5/2010) and continuing through the entire weekend. There will be no T' b shvat in Central Park which was rescheduled from last weekend and there will be no Religious School on Sunday (2/7/2010)

Congregation Sha'are Shalom (Gates of Peace) is a young and rapidly growing Conservative synagogue, located at 19357 Evergreen Mills Road, Leesburg, Virginia, across from Heritage High School. Israel Trip - October 2010

Congregation Sha'are Shalom is planning our first congregational trip to Israel for October 2010. Sha'are Shalom has chosen to partner with Keshet (the educational tour company) for this trip. Congregation Sha' are Shalom Welcomes Interfaith Families
Our community welcomes interfaith families raising Jewish children. Our community recognizes that this can be a complicated commitment and we commend the non-Jewish spouse's involvement with their child's activities in the synagogue. If you would like to speak to one of our many interfaith families, please email us at membership@sha-areshalom.org

Jewish Federation and JOI Launch Mothers/Parents Circle
The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington is partnering with the Jewish Outreach Institute (JOI) to launch the Mothers/Parents Circle in the greater Washington area. The Mothers/Parents Circle program is an umbrella of free educational events and resources for parents raising Jewish children within the context of intermarriage or a committed relationship. The program, which focuses on Jewish rituals, ethics and the creation of a Jewish home, includes regular meetings and group Shabbat and holiday observances.
